WEB DESIGN | RESEARCH | STRATEGY
I sought to restructure the 3M Littmann Stethoscopes website so the usability and aesthetics would be in line with the same high quality that their products are known for. The 4-week research and design sprint was based on a design thinking methodology and included the stages: Empathize | Define | Ideate | Prototype | Test
I created an interactive prototype that highlighted the information architecture, updated UI design, and a novel storefront. I led the project from generative research, through design iterations and prototyping, and ending with usability testing and next steps.
100% of participants reported that the navigation bar was intuitive and easy to use, that selecting and purchasing products was straightforward and uncomplicated, and that the overall UI design was delightful.
Reimagined Navigation and Homepage
The content on the homepage was prioritized according to customer needs.
Development of a Product Selection Tool
To assist customers, a production selection tool was developed to assist in purchase decisions.
Integration of a Novel Storefront
The competitive analysis revealed that 3M Littmann Stethoscopes' competition typically had their own company website storefront, yet 3M Littmann Stethoscopes did not. Generative research found that users were interested in purchasing products directly from their website.
Impact
Usability testing found that 100% of participants found the navigation bar to be intuitive and well organized, that the selection tool was easy to use and useful in selecting products, and that it was convenient to purchase products directly from the source website instead of relying on 3rd parties.
